This Privacy Policy explains how SubSoar (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the SubSoar Chrome extension and this website.

What we don’t collect

SubSoar is built to process as much as possible directly in your browser. For the free subtitle search experience:

• We do not collect or store the videos you watch.
• We do not store subtitle content or search queries on our servers.
• We do not track which timestamps you jump to.

Pro & AI features

If you upgrade to Pro and enable LLM-powered search or chat, you can provide your own API key for your preferred AI provider (for example, OpenAI). That key is stored only in the extension and used directly from your browser to call the provider’s API.

Your prompts and subtitle excerpts may be sent to the AI provider you configure. Those requests are governed by the provider’s own privacy policy, not ours.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store or process card numbers. Stripe may collect personal data necessary to complete purchases; see Stripe’s own privacy policy for details.

Basic analytics

We may collect limited, aggregated telemetry such as install counts, feature usage, and error rates. When used, this data is anonymised and does not include subtitle content, search queries, or video URLs.

Data retention

We retain only the information necessary to operate the product and comply with legal obligations. You can remove all local SubSoar data at any time by uninstalling the extension from your browser.
